Solidarity with the North West

NUT and NASUWT members are taking strike action today across the North West region, against Gove's attacks on our pay, pensions and workload

Teachers were angry enough to call this action even before we had heard the latest instalment of Gove's "war on teachers"- the ending of even basic protections around working hours, days, PPA, cover etc,

This is the first in a programme of regional strike action- and we will be taking our turn in the South East in the Autumn term. In the meantime, NUT members across the South East have ben sending messages of solidarity and support. East Sussex schools have been sending solidarity postcards to our colleagues in Sefton Division.   School reps have been distributing stickers and solidarity material in schools.

Please visit the NUT's national website to find out more, including watching video coverage of the major rallies in Liverpool and Manchester.
